Types of Protective Styles

Full

A full protective sew in hair style is when your entire head has extensions in it and none of your natural hair is showing. Most of the time all of your hair is braided and the hair is sewn through the braids. A net may be used depending on the condition of your hair.

Partial

A partial protective sew in hair style is when about half of your natural hair is exposed, and the rest of the hair is extensions. This style is common when you are looking to add more volume or length to your hair. Your real hair is still braided just like the full protective sew in hair style. A net may be used depending on the condition of your hair.

Natural Part

A natural part protective sew in hair style is a hairstyle that includes a middle or side part. Most all of your hair is braided and the hair is sewn through the braids. A net may be used depending on the condition of your hair.

Invisible Part

An invisible part protective sew in style is a specific layering technique that shows your scalp without actually leaving any of your hair out to hide the tracks and to make it appear as if the extensions are growing directly from your scalp. A net may be used depending on the condition of your hair.

Vixen

A vixen protective sew in style is when your hair is divided into four sections. With this style, you can style and part your hair how you choose without any tracks showing. Most of your hair is braided and the hair is sewn through the braids.

Braidless

A braidless protective sew in style allows you to leave out your natural hair and add extensions for length and body. In most cases, links are installed into the hair using a strand by strand technique. Then the extensions are sewn onto the links. The links are not visible when the hair is styled.

Bun

A bun is a protective style that is pulled back away from the face, twisted or plaited. It may be pulled up in the middle of the head, to the side or all the way to the back above the neck. You may request to have extensions added to bun hairstyles to add fullness.

Ponytail

A ponytail protective style is when most of the hair or all of the hair on your head is pulled away from your face, gathered and secured at the back of the head with a hair tie or clip. You may request to have extensions added to your ponytail hairstyle to add length and fullness.
